The Endless Obesity Loop Posted By : Jeff Foster -
Other than genetically obesity is the result of improper eating habits in conjunction with a constant lack of physical activity.
The math is simple… if the food that you eat yields more calories than you burn you body has to do something and that something is to try to store the excess and you put on the fat.
Over time this is the basics of one’s obesity.
An inactive lifestyle combined with improper eating habits is without question the top reason people all over the world are becoming heavier and heavier. With today’s faster paced world, there never seems to be enough time (or inclination) to control one’s eating habits and diet.
Genetics:
Obesity can indeed be inherited from the family tree. If you have a family history of obesity and overweight, you should all the more be very cognizant of your physical activity and your eating habits.
Junk food:
Today, everyone is ‘busy’. But this should not be the reason or the excuse to continually add helpings of junk food to your daily eating routine. The quick burger sure looks and tastes good but they are loaded with fat. And here’s the thing… a single burger is worth a whole meal as far as your body is concerned, but the problem is that a single burger (because of its makeup) will not make your stomach feel full… so your stomach keeps asking for more… which unfortunately we, more often than not, give in to our stomach’s demand even though your body doesn’t need more burger.
Feel like an endless loop?
Diets come and diets go and maybe there are a few pounds that are lost but they generally come right back and then some once the complete boredom of any given diet begins to take hold of one’s appetite. And as you go from one diet to the next your body begins to recognize the lean times and makes it even harder for you to lose that weight.
Diets never work. Changing your lifestyle does. You will always get cravings for certain delicious ‘forbidden foods’… that’s what makes them even more desirable.
Remember… a successful ‘diet’ is a successful change in one’s lifestyle and that is going to have to include getting some exercise with your diet. If you will begin by increasing your level of physical activity, any increase at all, you’ll eventually find that those craving aren’t nearly as severe and that because you have increased your activity you can even occasionally enjoy so of those forbidden foods.
